Conventional wisdom says that acid reflux, heartburn and GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) are the result of too much stomach acid. But, what if I told you that having too much stomach acid is very rare? In fact, as we age, we begin to produce less stomach acid. Surprisingly, most of the time, acid reflux, heartburn and GERD are the result of too little stomach acid.
