Today was the kick off for my very own, personal, only me, Core Values Detox Plus. Well, truth be told, my hubby is kind of on it since I plan and prepare the meals. But he still gets his coffee and his occasional dairy. Plus no telling what he has while at work!
Speaking of coffee, I thought that might be the hard part for me. It was back in May. But so far I’m okay without it. It’s 9:30 at night and I’m feeling very tired. I wonder if that’s normal for me and the caffeine has been masking it? That’s only a guess.
Yesterday I spent some time planning meals and shopping. Not much unusual there since I do that every weekend. But I did spend a bit more time in the kitchen today. Preparing veggies and snacks that are on the detox list. That was my downfall in May. I would get hungry in the afternoon and didn’t have any planned snacks. This time I’m ready.
I have posted pictures of our meal from tonight. I made Cranberry Glazed Salmon, Caramelized Onions and a salad with Tangy Cilantro Dressing. All of the recipes are included in the Core Values Detox packet, by the way. That salmon recipe looks and sounds as if it would be a lot of work. But it wasn’t at all. It was very easy and turned out delicious. The recipe makes 4 servings, so we’ll be having that again one night this week!
When I set the plate in front of my husband, he took one look and said, “This is detox diet food? Looks great.” Ha – and that’s the point. Just because it’s a detox doesn’t mean the food is boring. It can be what you want it to be. And this was delicious! Check back tomorrow for another update. I’ll try to make it earlier than 9:30!
