Gut Instinct?

Why you may want to listen to that 'gut instinct' next time.
Why you may want to listen to that ‘gut instinct’ next time.
Perhaps you’ve heard your gut called your second brain? What is that about? And what does it mean?

You’ve no doubt heard of gut instinct. Maybe even experienced it. But have you also wondered if it was real? If it even could be real?

The reality is that your gut is your second brain. It’s been shown that certain fears and intuitions are signals from the intestines, rather than from the mind.

There are more than 100 billion neurons within the gut – more than in your spinal cord. And, many of the neurotransmitters that control the brain are also found in the gut. In fact, 95% of the body’s serotonin comes from the gut. Low serotonin levels are implicated in migraines, depression, anxiety, and more.

So, perhaps the next time you have a gut feeling, you’ll want to listen to it.

  • weight loss
  • eating right on vacation
  • or?
I’m curious what you might be interested in. No commitment, no strings. Just looking for input. If you like, leave your comments below.
